To forgive is not to forget, and forgiving is an act you do for yourself. Holding that anger and hate inside you isn’t healthy, so forgiving them releases you of that burden.

Having forgiven them, you can still tell them to go fuck themselves with a rake for hurting you or betraying your trust.

  • EDIT: Thank you all for the suggestion that I shouldn’t be seeing Ads in the first place if I was living my life right, ha. Trust that I know what Ad-Block is and what DNS-filtering is. The point is that I managed to get this Ad and that it left a poor taste in my mouth.

Lol, that was to be expected, because most people on Lemmy probably don’t see ads at all. Like, literally the only time I see ads is when I’m looking at someone else’s screen or when I have to turn off the sanity filtering to access one specific thing. Oh, and when I have to search from a server I’m always reminded of just how shit the modern Internet is.

I have absolutely no idea how anyone deals with the Internet at Mr Burns’ health levels of advertising, let alone those of us with ADHD.

  • To the 2nd and 3rd points, I think the mentality is ‘bitch be crazy, but maybe she’s not stupid enough to do it again’. I’ve heard of parents doing really fucking stupid shit with seemingly good intentions, and most of them will realize how fucking stupid they are once you metaphorically hit them with a clue by four.

The first is due to archaic rules that allow the confessional booth to be outside of the reporting under the thought that this is just supposed to be between the sinner and god('s representative). It’s fucking stupid, but most of Christianity/Catholicism is in my experience.

One bad act will undo years of good will, we see this constantly irl. Why do you think the mods deserve any benefit of the doubt from people when they unilaterally chose to make a bad decision with no input from the community? If the community can’t trust them to act in their best interests, they’re absolutely well within their rights to demand they step down or move to the replacement community. Because of they’re going to do this once, what are the odds they actually learn the correct lesson and don’t do this kind of shit again?
